马来西亚国民大学（National University of Malaysia ），简称国大/UKM，成立于1970年，是马来西亚政府创办的第三所公立大学。学校有两个校区，总校坐落于雪兰莪州万宜新镇 ( Bandar Baru Bangi ) ，离吉隆坡市区约35公里，占地面积1，096公顷（16，440亩），分校坐落在吉隆坡市区，占地19.9公顷。国大是大马政府重点发展和支持的5个研究型大学之一，所以现在国大已经逐步的减少录取学士学位的学生，而把重心注重于学士学位的素质，同时也增加招收硕士、博士学位的学生，以期在长期内达到(学士:硕士、博士) 50 : 50的对比。
国大是东南亚乃至全球著名的大学，文凭和学历得到国际的广泛认可，根据QS Top Universities 数据显示在2011年，UKM的世界排名是第279，根据2012年的亚洲排名是第58名。国大有12个学院，12所研究中心，13间宿舍村（10间位于UKM总校内，1所在Bangi区，1个位于Titiwangsa，1所位于HUKM）。此外，国大也设立了私人有限公司的控股公司为UKM控股，处理UKM的商业活动。
国大拥有一座东南亚最大及藏书量最多的大学图书馆，馆内设备齐全，所有管理都采用电脑系统。校园里提供各种便利设施，如邮局、银行、商店、餐厅、各团体活动室、学生事务中心、医疗中心等等，为学生提供各种生活和娱乐的必要设施和服务。 国大的休闲俱乐部里有一个具国际水准的游泳池及一个18洞的高尔夫球场，对学生及社会开放。校园内备有各式各样的运动设施和场所，如足球、羽毛球、网球、排球、篮球、棒球、橄榄球等。而DECTAR大礼堂，Dewan Gemilang(DG)，DTAMS礼堂更是成为学生主要考场。
由于校园面积庞大，为了方便学生在校园里的学习和生活，大学在校园内提供UKM巴士和Van服务。除此之外，国大还有其他公共交通设备，包括：rapidKL，方便学生到附近的市区( hentian kajang 长途巴士总站和kajang市区)，还有国大也非常靠近KTM站,同时，国大也提供巴士，让学生能轻松到达KTM站。而离国大不到10分钟的路程，就能到达南北大道,方便让学生上达KL市中心，甚至槟城，下至马六甲和柔佛。
进入轻松话题，国大的学生活动在马来西亚国立大专里算是数一数二的，除了文化大型活动，所牵涉的参与者可达百人以上，出席的观众更以千人来计。另外也有小组活动，新生可根据自己的喜好兴趣选择。在各自的宿舍村更有各自的宿舍华团、BSMM等等，所举办的活动也是各有特色。
在各自的学院，senior们将安排每位新生拥有自己的“direct”，而你们的direct senior会把他们拥有的书本转送或转售你们。如果在课业上遇到问题，可以向他们请教。在新生入学和找到自己的direct后，各自的学院或课程会举办自己的fac night or course night,除了让新生们之间更了解彼此，更是让新生们认识更多seniors，以后在课业上或生活上遇到问题可以向seniors寻求帮助。
UKM的环境除了建筑物，剩下的就是森林和小山区，所以学生不宜带脚踏车来上学。而且UKM以猴子多闻名，每一堆猴子群会有1-2只大猴子会追人。它们出没的时间多在早餐，午餐和晚餐时间，多数是在山区和垃圾堆，有时更会有大胆的猴子闯进宿舍或房间。所以新生们要注意自身安全，尽量选择适当的时间回去，也不要单独走，出门要锁上门窗。猴子之外，幸运的新生可以见到猴子的朋友—山猪。山猪基本上不会攻击人类，反而更怕人类，出没时间都是在晚上。
说到森林，UKM也有属于自己的Taman Paku-pakis UKM 和Hutan Simpan Kekal
UKM。可想而知，UKM还有很多未开发地。当然，现在UKM校园内也有不少刚建好的新建筑物，相信就快毕业的 Seniors 应该没什么机会用到，所以 Juniors 应该好好珍惜咯。

Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was established on 18 May 1970 as the national university
with the mission of promoting Bahasa Melayu (Malay language) as the
language of knowledge at the pinnacle of the national education system.
With an excellent track record in research, academic programmes, community
engagement and internationalisation, UKM has evolved into one of the leading
universities in the region. It is well supported by modern infrastructure in a
sustainable green campus.
The availability
of the North-South Highway network, KTM Komuter services, and local buses has
made the journey to the campus for students trouble-free and accessible, and
also to the visitors who wish to have a visit to the University. Kuala Lumpur
International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang also makes the University even closer to
the international reach. Main campus of UKM is in Bangi and located in the MSC
vicinity and very near to Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, the two constituencies that
are considered to be the catalyst for the development of information
technology.
The main campus,
which spans about 1,096.29 hectares, is located in Bangi, Selangor Darul Ehsan,
and approximately 35 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur city centre. The main campus
houses eight faculties and 12 institutes. Aside from that, UKM also has a
Medical Campus in Kuala Lumpur, with four faculties, namely, the Faculty of
Medicine (Pre-clinical), Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of
Dentistry and Faculty of Pharmacy. UKM Medical Centre (UKMMC), which located in
Cheras, Kuala Lumpur is 22.3 hectares wide and the centre is able to fulfil the
current needs in terms of education, services as well as medical research.
UKMMC consists of a hospital, the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of
Medical Molecular Research (UMBI).
UKM is an area covered with forests and hills other than buildings, it is advisable not to bring their bicycles as it is not easy to travel around hillsides. Besides, UKM Bangi campus has quite a number of monkeys with 1 or 2 bigger monkeys in each troop of them will be chasing after people, so must be alert when you see them. These monkeys always appear during breakfast, lunch, and dinner time, mostly at hills and garbage tongs. Sometimes they even break into the student hostel, please mind your own safety by closing the windows before leaving your room. If you are lucky enough, you may see monkeys' best friends-- wild boars. Wild boars normally do not attack people, instead they are actually scared of people. They will only appear at night.
When talking about forests, UKM has its own "Taman Paku-pakis" and "Hutan Simpan Kekal UKM". There are many undeveloped areas in UKM and a lot of new buildings projects have just finished. New students of 2012/2013 intake are really very lucky and should appreciate all these new buildings which many of the seniors have never had such chance.
