   有鉴于如何才能豁免偿还国家高等教育局贷学金(PTPTN)众说纷纭，理事会代表，唐香云同学特往Unit Kaunseling UKM 询问，之后再次拨电国家高等教育局官员，证实凡是2010年后以一等荣誉学位毕业的学生可以申请豁免摊还PTPTN。
注：一等荣誉学位分数(CGPA)因各大专而异


   As opinions on how to get exemption from paying back the PTPTN loan are widely divided, the Chinese Community Council (CCC) representative, Kelly Tong Siang Yin has gone for further information at Unit Kaunseling UKM before putting a call to the PTPTN officer and it was reconfirmed that all graduates with first-class honours degrees after 2010 may apply to be exempted from repaying the PTPTN loan.
P/S: CGPA of first-class honours degrees varies from universities.

断水的校园 [Campus troubled by water shortage]

 
   近几日，国大生 饱受水供中断困扰，苦不堪言。国大华裔学生理事会深知事态严重，除了多次致电有关当局询问并促请当局尽快采取行动解决断水之苦。今早，理事会兼学生代表，吴端元同学亲自前往Jabatan Pembangunan dan Penyelenggaraan 会见有关工程师，En. Mohd. Fidaus了解详情。
    En. Mohd. Fidaus透露，此次断水问题对于水源来自Hulu Langat的Lingkungan Kedua之宿舍(KIY, KPZ)并没有影响，受到波及的是水源来自Semenyih的Lingkungan Pertama之宿舍(KAB, KDO, KTHO, KBH, KIZ, KKM, KUO, KRK)。实际上，Semenyih地区在12月30日起已经面对水供中断，只是当时国大校园里仍有储水，才不致于断水。然而，Semenyih水供问题未能解决，直至1月3日，国大校园的储水已经用完，再加上系统问题，所有Lingkungan Pertama之宿舍也全面断水。    
    En. Mohd. Fidaus也说，有关水供在今早(5/1)五点开始恢复正常，宿舍地区较低者将会先受益。截至目前(1pm)，KDO和KTHO是首先恢复水供的宿舍，KAB将会是最后得到水供的宿舍，并预计国大水供将在明天回复正常。他说，目前水源正在注满国大储水箱，KAB在储水箱达到2.5m时才会有正常水源供应，但是根据En. Mohd Fidaus所说，有关储水箱的水位目前只达1m，并在巡视校园时发现过半的水喉都在漏水。因此他呼吁国大生为了让KAB住户早日得到水供，要节俭用水，并时时关上水龙头，不然KAB将在明天才会得到正常水供。
     理事会在此感谢Jabatan Pembangunan dan Penyelenggaraan 在断水期间所做的努力，包括安排UKM和SYABAS水车进入校园和在KUO安置Tangki Biru等等，以纾缓学生断水困扰。理事会也呼吁全体国大生稍安勿躁，在考试的压力下，也别忘了节省用水，为自己为朋友，打造一个更美好的国大校园。

    Over these few days, the UKM students have been suffering water shortage. The Chinese Community Council (CCC) has phoned the authority several times for details and solutions. This morning, the CCC representative who is also student representative, Wu Tuan Yuan has met the relevant engineer from Jabatan Pembangunan dan Penyelenggaraan, En. Mohd. Fidaus in person for more details.
    According to En. Mohd. Fidaus, the water disruption has no influence on colleges in Linkungan Kedua (KIY, KPZ) which water source is from Hulu Langat while colleges in Lingkungan Pertama (KAB, KDO, KTHO, KBH, KIZ, KKM, KUO, KRK) which water source is from Semenyih are greatly affected. In fact, Semenyih has been troubled by water disruption since 30th December while UKM did not face any problem as there was still water storage in the campus. However, the problem was not solved until 3rd January where all water storage in UKM ran out and some system problems occurred which lead to water disruption of all colleges in Lingkungan Pertama.
    En. Mohd. Fidaus also said, water supply starts to resume its normal state at 5am this morning (5/1) and colleges in low-lying area will get water supply first. Until now (1pm), KDO and KTHO has got their water while KAB will be the last college and it is estimated that water supply in UKM will be back to normal by tomorrow. He added, the water is filling the water-storage tanks in UKM and KAB will have water supply only after the water level has reached 2.5m. But the water level has only reached 1m and he also found more than half water pipes in the campus are leaking. Thus, he hopes all students could use water wisely and turn the pipes off all the time or KAB will only resume its water supply tomorrow.
    The CCC wishes to convey gratitude towards Jabatan Pembangunan dan Penyelenggaraan for their efforts done to ease the water shortage issue, by sending UKM and SYABAS water tankers into the campus, placing Blue Tanks in KUO and so on. The CCC also hopes that the students could remain calm under such difficult condition. Always save water, for the sake of yourself and your friends. All the best to your final exam!

考试温馨提醒 [Reminder for all UKM students]

  期末考即将到来，国大华裔学生理事会欲在此祝福各位同学考试顺利并附上数项温馨提醒。

The final exam is just around the corner, the Chinese Community Council (CCC) wishes all students best of luck! Here are a few reminders for all UKM students during exam.
1. Make sure IC, Matrics Card and KMJP are with you before leaving for exam.
2. Proper attire (collar shirt and slacks) is necessary. Jeans and slippers are not allowed in the exam hall.
3. If you are taking public transport, like bus to the exam hall, do so 30 minutes earlier so that you won't miss the bus.
4. If you miss the bus, you may contact the following CCC student representatives. They would be glad to help should the condition allows.

理工学院新大楼一览 [Pengenalan Bangunan Baru FST]

  新落成的理工学院建筑物对理工学院的学生来说是一项好消息。这座新建筑物将设有多间实验室及研究室，以符合国大作为一间研究型大学的政策。

  理工学院学生代表莫国豪同学和Siti Nurhidayah同学与该院院长Prof Sahrim进行了对话，以更了解该建筑物和解答学生对新建筑物的一些疑问。

  之前坐落在化学局大楼的院长办公室将迁移到新的大楼，而原本的办公室将充当为讲师办公室和实验室。

  理工学院新楼拥有2间足于容纳320人的讲堂，并设有软垫椅，让整个学习环境更加舒适。无论如何，由于新讲堂正在进行最后阶段的工程如安装液晶荧幕，所以至今仍未开放。

大楼内也有一间可容纳320人的会议厅。初期阶段，会议厅只公开给理工学院领导层进行会议，但院长建议开放会议厅予全体国大生，让国大生也能使用这些设施。

新建筑物里设有8间会谈室，以让理工学院的学生进行讨论和复习等等。此外，这里也备有2间会话测验室及2间研讨室。至今，当局还未定下这些设备的租借程序，但将在召开会议后做出宣布。

  大厦里也有2间研究生室，分别座落在楼上和楼下。理工学院学生会的行动室计划将被迁移到新的大厦里，而原本的行动室将作为学生活动室。

  此外，这座大楼增设了几间较大的仪器室，以置放理工学院的所有仪器。之前，所有仪器是按照各自的研究中心置放，如今将被置放在一起，以方便使用。

  除此以外，所有卓越中心如珍妮湖研究中心、昆虫系统中心、热带气候研究中心、福隆港研究中心等将被置放在新的大楼里。该大楼也拥有2间客卿讲师办公室和10间讲师办公室。

目前还在建筑工程中的博物院和展廊，预料会在2012年3月举行开幕仪式，到时候将成为国大生和外界的瞩目焦点。新大厦里也设立了食堂和2间祈祷室，而旧的食堂依然会保留着。国大生也能在该大厦里使用UKM Jaring来浏览网络。

  新的大厦将增设泊车位，理工学院的学士生和员工将优先使用这些泊车位。院长建议把旧楼的泊车位公开给研究生使用。当局也在化学局大楼大门对面建立一座通往新建筑物的楼梯。在长期内，为了方便起见，当局将建设一座从旧楼通向新楼的有盖天桥，并把新大厦和原子能大楼之间的道路连接起来。

  当局计划在新建筑物四周增设一些摊位，让理工学院的学生与外界的企业合作进行一些商业活动。此外，新楼也备有广播系统，以作为理工学院报告一些事项的用途。

  Pembinaan Bangunan Baru Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi  merupakan satu berita baik buat semua mahasiswa/i FST. Bangunan baru ini menempatkan banyak makmal sains dan penyelidikan selaras dengan dasar UKM sebagai sebuah Universiti penyelidikan.

  Satu sesi temu bual telah dijalankan oleh wakil pelajar FST--- saudara Wilfred Mok Kok Hoe dan saudari Siti Nur Hidayah bersama Prof Sahrim, dekan FST, untuk mengenali lebih banyak tentang bangunan ini yang baru dibina di samping menjawab kemusykilan para pelajar tentang bangunan baru ini.

  Pejabat Kedekanan FST yang asalnya “menumpang” di bangunan kimia telah dipindahkan sepenuhnya ke bangunan baru tersebut, manakala tempat asal pejabat kedekanan akan digunakan sebagai bilik pensyarah dan sebahagian pejabat am akan digunakan sebagai makmal.

  Terdapat 2 bilik kuliah di bangunan baru itu yang mampu memuatkan pelajar sebanyak 320 orang. Suasana pembelajaran di dalam bilik kuliah tersebut sudah tentu selesa lagi kondusif dengan adanya kerusi yang berkusyen. Namun begitu, penggunaan bilik kuliah tersebut belum dibuka kerana masih terdapat kerja akhir yang perlu dilakukan, seperti pemasangan LCD dan sebagainya.

Dalam bangunan baru FST ini, terdapat satu Bilik Persidangan yang baru dibina di mana ia boleh menampung 320 orang. Pada peringkat awal, dewan ini hanya dibuka untuk mesyuarat pihak pengurusan FST, namun untuk faedah warga UKM, dekan  telah mencadangkan bahawa dewan ini dibuka kepada kegunaan seluruh warga UKM.

  Sekurang-kurangnya 8 bilik perbincangan telah dibina khas untuk warga FST untuk membuat perbincangan, mengulangkaji dan sebagainya. Daripada bilik perbincangan itu, akan terdapat 2 Bilik Ujian Lisan dan 2 Bilik Seminar. Prosedur untuk pinjaman bilik-bilik tersebut belum ditentukan oleh pegurusan FST dan akan dimaklumkan selepas mesyuarat diadakan.

  2 bilik siswazah telah dibina di mana ia terletak satu terletak di tingkat atas dan satu lagi di tingkat bawah bangunan baru dan bilik siswazah mampu menampung 300 pelajar. Bilik Persatuan Mahasiswa FST dirancang akan dipindahkan ke Bilik Persatuan di  bangunan baru, sementara bilik asal PMFST akan digunakan sebagai bilik aktiviti pelajar.

  Selain itu, terdapat beberapa Bilik Instrumentasi yang cukup besar akan digunakan untuk meletakkan semua instrumen di FST. Semua instrumen sebelum ini adalah diagihkan masing-masing mengikut Pusat Pengajian dan kini semua dikumpulkan untuk memudahkan penggunaan semua pihak.

  Di samping itu, semua Ketua Pusat Kecemerlangan seperti Pusat Penyelidikan Tasik Chini,  Pusat Sistematik Serangga, Pusat Penyelidikan Iklim Tropika, Pusat Penyelidikan Bukit Fraser dan sebagainya akan ditempatkan di bangunan baru tersebut. Di bangunan baru FST juga terdapat 2 Bilik Pensyarah Pelawat dan 10 Bilik Pensyarah.

Galeri dan Muzium yang sedang dibina dijangka akan menjadi tarikan utama kepada warga UKM mahupun pelawat luar. Galeri dan Muzium ini dijangka akan dirasmikan pada tahun Mac 2012. Kafeteria juga akan dibina di bangunan ini sementara Kafeteria lama akan dikekalkan. 2 surau juga akan dibina di bangunan baru ini. Warga UKM juga boleh melayari laman internet di sini dengan WiFi Jaring UKM.

  Pembinaan tempat meletak kenderaan juga dalam perancangan bangunan baru FST di mana tempat meletak kenderaan akan diutamakan kepada kakitangan FST dan pelajar pra-siswazah, sementara tempat parking di bangunan lama dicadangkan oleh Dekan supaya dibuka kepada pelajar siswazah. Tangga naik ke bangunan baru FST juga akan dibina berhadapan dengan pintu bangunan kimia. Dalam jangka masa panjang, jejantas berbumbung akan dibina antara bangunan lama dengan bangunan baru FST untuk kemudahan semua warga FST. Perancangan juga telah dibuat untuk membuat penyambungan jalan dari bangunan baru FST ke bangunan nuklear bagi memudahkan warga UKM.

  Kios-kios jualan juga dicadangkan untuk ditempatkan di sekitar bangunan FST baru yang akan dijalankan oleh pelajar FST dengan kerjasama entrepreneur luar. Di samping itu, bangunan baru FST juga akan mempunyai sistem PA tersendiri di mana pengumuman akan dibuat bagi perkara-perkara tertentu oleh pihak pengurusan FST.

理工学院课题 [ Isu-Isu FST ]

  依据理工学院学生的反映，理事会代表和有关当局在假期前一起巡视理工学院，以探究实际情况。相关巡视结果也显示理工学院几栋大楼需要管理层特别关注。在此次讨论中，RO饮水机再次成为主要课题。理工学院院长，Prof. Sahrim指出，理工学院管理层已把该课题带往大学管理处并同意如果水机供应仍然发生问题，现有的供应商将被撤换。另外，理工学院数处需要即刻修理，因为现有状况引起不便及安全问题。Prof. Sahrim表示严正看待此事并会立即采取行动。在此附上几张照片，让各位了解情况。

   Berikutan dengan respon daripada pelajar FST, satu rondaan dan tinjauan sempat juga dilakukan sebelum cuti pertengahan semester yang lepas. Hasil tinjauan didapati bahawa terdapat serba sedikit  kekurangan di beberapa bangunan di FST yang perlu diambil perhatian oleh pihak pengurusan FST. 

   Penggunaan mesin minuman air RO sekali lagi menjadi isu utama dalam perbincangan ini. Menurut Prof. Sahrim, Dekan FST, isu ini telah dibangkitkan oleh pengurusan FST ke peringkat pengurusan universiti.Operator yang sedia ada itu akan ditukar sekiranya masalah pembekalan mesin minuman air RO masih berlaku. 

   Selain itu, beberapa tempat di bangunan FST perlu dibaiki dengan segera kerana keadaan sekarang menimbulkan kesulitan dan mampu mengancam keselamatan pelajar. Bersertakan gambar di sini untuk kefahaman semua. Yang Berbahagia Prof Sahrim juga memandang serius perkara ini dan tindakan akan diambil dengan segera.

汽车电池盗窃事件 [Cars' Battery Theft Cases]

    十月二十五日当天，校园流传Pusanika附近发生了数起汽车电池盗窃事件。为此，理事会代表—叶志华同学和林国强同学前往Wisma Aman获取更多详情。以下是与有关负责人会面得到的一些资讯。

  在十月二十日，五辆Proton汽车停泊在Pusanika附近，继而发生汽车电池被偷窃，并且没有留下任何指纹。Wisma Aman当局相信是职业盗贼所为。接获投报后，当局曾派遣几位便衣官员在案发现场邻近巡逻，但是没有任何发现。

    Wisma Aman促请同学们与当局携手合作以减少罪案发生，并呼吁各位同学如果发现任何可疑人物或形迹，立即联络03-8921 4444。

    On 25^th October, there was an issue regarding cars’ battery theft cases around the area of Pusanika. Consequently, CCC representatives Alvin Yap and Lum Kok Kiong went to Wisma Aman to follow up the details. After meeting with the head of Wisma Aman, we would like to share some information here.

    On 20^th October, 5 Proton cars’ battery theft cases occurred near Pusanika which left no fingerprint on the car. So, Wisma Aman believed that the criminal might be an expert on this sphere.After receiving complaints from students, Wisma Aman sent a few plainclothes officers patrol around that suspicious area, but in vain.

    Collaboration between students and Wisma Aman is required in order to reduce crimes. If anyone happens to see any suspicious people or improper action, you may contact Wisma Aman at 03-8921 4444.

马大新青年无知者无畏

针对于日前马大新青年发表文告挑战本会一事，理事会对于新青年所发表之文告里面错误处处表示遗憾，也不禁对马大新青年所抱之“无知者无畏”精神表示惊叹。

同为全国大专联谊会(全联)以及全国华裔学生代表联盟（全盟）之会员，理事会在大专法令上立场一直很坚定，即本会认为大专法令应该被修改，将大学生之参政权归还于学生们，此立场不曾改变过。新青年指本会在大专法令课题上默不作声，却不知理事会之学生代表在当初四名学生被提控时，虽然分属不同阵线却发表文告表态反对大专法令，并周旋希望本会学生代表可以列席审讯。虽然无法如愿，可是事后也获得当事人的致意。新青年未去了解事情却片面妄下定论，此乃错误一。

马大新青年指本会“没有表明立场反对校方上诉至上诉庭，以重新判定大专法令第15(5)(a)条文没有违宪，继而重新把4名国大生定罪。”本会质疑新青年到底是否有留意本事件之新闻进展，居然不懂在两个月前大专法令尚未被宣判违宪时，国大委员会已经宣布四名学生无罪释放，何来重新二次审判再将之定罪之说？此乃错误二。其次，本案件中之4名学生已顺利毕业，而大专法令之下学生所被控的罪仅为纪律违规，而非刑事罪，试问又如何追溯并定罪？此乃错误三。

另外，新青年须知：在宪法所赋予的司法制度下，任何案件都拥有两次的上诉权，意即可经过高庭、上诉庭、以及联邦法院的三重审判。本会曾向校方官员反映本会反对大专法令之立场，惟校方表示其将保留上诉权。虽然不同意校方之立场，本会仍尊重宪法底下所赋予各造的上诉权利。试问如果今天4名学生没有上诉的权利，何来今日上诉庭推翻高庭判决宣布大专法令违宪之历史性判决？一切上诉权皆为宪法所赋予之权利，无人可剥夺、反对。此乃错误四。新青年身为学生领袖组织却连犯三项法律常识错误，法盲至此，令人遗憾。

由此看来，意在搞政治秀的实非本会，而是新青年本身。在此，理事会欲劝请马大新青年好好把握执政的机会，在学生福利和国家课题做出实际的贡献。并在发表文告之前先调查清楚，以免发表错误之言论，再度贻笑大方。

国民大学华裔学生理事会欢迎上诉庭关于大专法令违宪的裁决！ [Yes to the Court of Appeal's Verdict on AUKU]

   继早前的4名国大生上诉至上诉庭要求宣判大专法令违宪后，上诉庭终于在10月31日以2票对1票宣布推翻高庭的裁决，并在口头裁决中表示，1971年大专法令第15(5)(a)条文违反联邦宪法第10条文赋予人民言论、机会及结社自由的权利。

   理事会对于上诉庭的决定表示非常欢迎，并认为此决定不只捍卫了大专生自由参政的基本权利，同时也为我国的民主以及人权刻下一个里程碑。此决定虽非一项正式的谕令，然而却为大专生自由结社以及参政透出了一道曙光。

   大专法令第15条文阐明，大专生不可向任何国内外政党表达支持、同情或反对。1948年世界人权宣言及我国联邦宪法皆阐明每个人都有结社和言论自由，人民皆享有平等的权利，因此同样身为我国国民的大专生也应该享有同等的基本人权。大部分大学生已经达到拥有投票权的法定年龄，因此大学生应当有权对任何政党表达自身的立场，并拥有参与政治和发表言论的自由。大学生绝对有能力对政党和候选人进行判断和做出明智的决定，并通过民主选举选出国家领导人。在国外留学的大专生没有受到大专法令的约束，所以国内的大专生在联邦宪法下的言论、集会和结社自由也不应该被否决，大专生应该拥有自主权决定参政与否，让年轻的一群对国家政治有更深入的了解。


   国大华裔学生理事会认同接触国家时事政治对我国青年非常重要，因为青年必须跟上时代的脚步，了解及关心国家和社会所发生的事件，对时事课题发表建设性的意见。政府应该给与大专生更大的言论空间，让大专生可以更加自由地提出自身的看法，并让拥有投票权的大学生参与国家发展及民主进程。大专生已经是具有成熟思想和受过高等教育的成年人，应该十分清楚自己必须对本身的言行举止负责任。

   大专生是充满理想和活力的年轻人，而且怀有贡献国家的热忱和抱负，因此他们应该得到对国家社会的良好认知及培养健康的政治主张和思维，以便日后能够成为建设和发展国家的栋梁。早前政府已经宣布废除内安法令，体现出进行国家改革的决心和意愿，如今法庭宣判1971年大专法令第15（5）（a）条文违宪，所以是时候通过国会修改大专法令，以维护我国的宪政精神，归还大专生参政的权力和言论自由。

   鉴于国大校方代表表示将会对上诉庭的决定作出上诉，本会希望联邦法院可维持此项判决，并在此呼吁朝野议员们合作共同支持修改大专法令并删除第15条文和其他限制大专生自由的条文，维护言论的结社自由的基本人权，以展现出对我国最高法律的尊重，让大专生能获得更大空间参与我国的民主进程。

    Following the four UKM students who challenged the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 (UUCA), the court of appeal has finally reached a 2-1 majority judgment to override the decision of high court and said in the oral judgment that the UUCA 1971 section 15 (5) (a) is against the Federal Constitution section 10 that states the citizens’ rights to freedom of speech, to assemble and to form association.


   The Chinese Community Council(CCC) welcomes the decision of court of appeal and believes that the decision not only upholds the basic rights of the tertiary education students to be politically involved but also acts as a remarkable milestone for the democracy and human rights of our country. Although the verdict is not a court order, it definitely lights up the hope of the Universities and University Colleges students’ freedom to form association and take part in politics.  

   The UUCA 1971 section 15 provides that no student shall express or do anything which may reasonably be construed as expressing support for or sympathy with or opposition to any political party, whether in or outside Malaysia. However, the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Federal Constitution of Malaysia both state that everyone has the right to form association and freedom of speech which mean the Universities and University Colleges students should enjoy basic human rights of equal rank. Most students has reached the legal age to vote and thus they are rightful to express their stands in terms of any political party and to participate in politics and to give speech freely as they are absolutely able to judge the political parties and candidates before doing decision wisely in order to select the country leaders through democracy election. Since the tertiary education students studying abroad are not restricted by the UUCA, rights to freedom of speech, to assemble and to form association of those studying locally should not be deprived too. They ought to possess the autonomy whether to participate in politics or not.

   The CCC agrees it is indeed essential to be updated with the country’s current issues and politics because youth must keep up with times, understand and care about happenings in the country and society as well as to express constructive opinions regarding to current issue topics so that they won’t be deserted by the society. It is necessary that the government provides the Universities and University Colleges students a larger opinion sphere in order that they can present their own views more freely and take part in the development of the country and also democracy. These students are highly educated adults with mature thinking who understand clearly that they must be responsible for their own behaviours.

   The Universities and University Colleges students are energetic youth full with ambitions and are passion about contributing to the country. They must have sound awareness of the country and society besides cultivating healthy political ideas and thinking as to be able to make contribution on building and developing the country. The government’s determination to carry out country transformation is reflected when the Internal Security Act (ISA) is abolished. Currently, the court has made a judgment that the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 section 15 (5) (a) is unconstitutional. It is time to amend this UUCA in order to preserve the constitutional spirit of our country.


   As the UKM spokesperson said that UKM will appeal the decision, the CCC hopes that the Federal Court would affirm the verdict and all lawmakers could collaboratively support to amend the UUCA and repeal section 15 and other section which restrict the freedom of the tertiary education students in order to defend basic human rights to freedom of speech and to form association, uphold the Federal Constitution and enable the students to get involved more freely in the democratization of our country.

KPZ无水无电真相 [Truth about KPZ water and electricity disruption]

    上周六，Kolej Pendeta Za'ba 从早到晚面临无水无电的窘境。学生代表兼理事会代表，林国强同学于周一会见该宿舍的负责人，En.Nizam以详细了解实际情况。实情如下：

    该宿舍管理层在星期五的办公时间过后，即6点才收到Jabatan Pembangunan Penyelenggaraan通知     Pusat Pengurusan Penyelidikan的建筑工程将导致Za'ba在星期六的早上9点至傍晚6点面对电源干扰。而由于水泵需要电供进行操作，该断电问题也引致水供中断的现象。宿舍管理层在受到该通知时已经是办公时间过后，他们在传达该讯息时也面对问题。但是他们还是在宿舍村范围张贴了近30张相关启事。此外，管理层方面也发短讯通知住户们，但因为系统里的费用有限，他们无法寄发短讯予所有住户。

    因此，林国强同学建议宿舍管理层时时确保系统里的费用充足，以便可以发短讯给住户们传达重要讯息。

    Last Saturday, Kolej Pendeta Za'ba faced electricity and water supply disruption from morning till night. This Monday the student representative who is also CCC representative, Lum Kok Kiong met up with Za'ba manager, Encik Nizam to understand the situation. After the discussion, there are a few important things to take note.

    Za'ba management was given the surat pekeliling around 6pm on Friday from Jabatan Pembangunan Penyelenggaraan regarding disruption of electricity in Za'ba from 9am – 6pm on Saturday due to the construction work of Pusat Pengurusan Penyelidikan.The disruption of electricity caused no water supply as the pump could not function as usual.The moment when surat pekeliling was given was past office hours, so it lead to difficulties to the hostel management in sending out the message. But the management was still able to post 30 notices around residential area. Besides, the management had also sent SMS to students. Due to credit limitation in sending system, they were not able to send this message to all residents. That was why some students were not being informed by SMS.

    Lum suggests to the management to reload their credit in sending system and send SMS to all Za'ba residents whenever there is important announcement.
